As pet parents in Chicago, we realized the existing options were broken. The big 'gig economy' apps felt impersonal and risky, while traditional agencies were rigid and offline. We didn't just want a walker—we wanted a partner we could trust with a key to our home.

So in 2024, we founded Tails to bridge that gap. We built a provider-focused pet care platform that combines the safety of a private agency with the convenience of modern tech. Unlike generic marketplaces, we use personalized matching to pair dogs with walkers based on specific needs like anxiety, reactivity, or medical requirements.

We also believe that happy caregivers provide better care. That's why Tails providers keep 90% of their earnings—nearly double the industry standard. This allows us to attract and retain top pet care talent across Chicago neighborhoods like Lincoln Park, West Loop, Bucktown, and River North.
